Tie Dye Cookies :)

I thought my family needed a little pick-me-up treat today and when I ran across a photo of tie dyed cookies on Pinterest (aka "The Devil" lol) I knew I had to make them! When I clicked on the photo though, there wasn't a working link... Go go gadget crafty brain and I came up with this :)

First I had to find a good Sugar Cookie Recipe :) I used this one (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/easy-sugar-cookies/) but since I didn't think far enough ahead to the cutting part there were some issues...

I highly recommend using a recipe that is for rolled cookies instead (like this one: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/the-best-rolled-sugar-cookies/

I made the dough

Separated it into 4 bowls and added food coloring to each :) Red and Green would make cute Christmas cookies!!

Lay out a sheet of parchment paper (wax paper works too) and spoon the colored dough onto it in random design :)

I then rolled the parchment paper to make it into a "log."

Since my dough was really sticky I chose to freeze the log until it was hard.

Once I was happy with the solidity I cut 1/4 pieces from the log and baked them at 350°  for 9-12 minutes. (We like ours a little gooey in the middle so we did 9 minutes)

Yield: 3 dozen cookies :)

YAY! Today has been a productive one-what I could make of it anyway....Teething baby tends to not let Mommy get much crocheting done. I got two new pairs done for Miss Fussy Pants today :D

She gets to try them on in the morning, then we are going to do a photo
shoot with an adorable onesie she got from her Memaw today!

Lately I've been having a hard time finding the desire to pick up my crochet hook and get to work. :( Last night though, I remembered a pattern that I have been wanting to make for a LONG time!! :) Mamachee's Galilee Slippers! So I grabbed my F hook and some worsted yarn and got to work :) It felt great to complete something again!
Of course I didn't pay attention to the pattern and they didn't go small enough for my baby girl but they are still super cute! And I went back and got the correct pattern for Amanda sized booties :) They are in progress :) Using fall colors :)
